Ode to W. Haldane (Pearl + Ottawa) investigates the space between the commercial and the aesthetic, connecting the legacy of Grand Rapids, MI as “Furniture Capital of the United States” with Wassenaar's own family history of woodworking. Ode to W. Haldane celebrates the legacy of design and craft that surrounds any maker and is passed down to the next generation. Like white archeological bones of furniture past, fragments push and pull in the suspended moment between inspiration, decision-making, and the first cut of wood.
